Life Without A Plan

It is interesting to note that when people drive to a new destination, they get online to get directions. People simply need to know where they are going. They will not go anywhere without a plan of how to get there. Yet, these same people fail to write down a single plan for where their life is going.

Goals are the mechanisms which allow us to dictate the path of our lives. Failure to create a set of goals for yourself is the equivalent of getting into the car with no idea of where you are going. Would anyone in their right mind do this? I would think they would not. Again, people do it all the time with their lives.

The easiest way to get into the habit of setting some goals is to sit down and write out 5 things that you want to accomplish today. This is a basic form of goal setting but it will begin to develop the goal setting muscle. At the same time, think of 5 things that you want to do in the next 12 months. Put those items on a piece of paper.

Congratulations. You are beginning to set some goals for yourself. This is the first step in taking control of your life.
