Hold Onto Your Dreams

Why do people get bored? What is it that makes them feel that there is no hope? Many feel that life is really mundane. To tell you the truth, when each day is the same as the previous, life can be mundane. There needs to be something more that we all embrace.

Dreaming is something that is natural for us as human beings. As children, we have an overactive imagination. There is nothing that we cannot conceive in our minds. It is a limitless exercise which knows no boundaries. At that age, we are not conditioned to understand how to implement limits. To us, all is possible.

Contrast this with adults. As we mature, we learn to be "realistic". We are taught to assume responsibility and do those things that responsible people do. "Get a job and provide for your family" is the mantra. Dreamers are ridiculed as being unrealistic. In short, our childhood dreams are flushed out of us.

This is something that happens to most of society. It is no wonder that most are unhappy. Their lives are nothing more than a series of compromises of their dreams. Everything that came so naturally as a child is discarded in an effort to be mature. We learn to be realistic in our choices. This means letting go of our dreams.

Fortunately, there is a certain percentage of the population that doesnt subscribe to this mantra. These are the people who are the creators in our world. They hold onto their dreams as a lifeline. Nothing will deter them from what they imagine in their minds. Success is something that they go after in all instances. Life is invigorating since each day is spent in the pursuit of what is truly wanted. Everything is a stepping stone to something larger.

If you are to be truly moved in your life, you need to hold onto your dreams. Resist the temptation to be "mature" by discounting those ingrained desires that you have. There is absolutely no reason why you should settle for anything less that what you truly want. Society teaches us we cannot have it all. That is simply a form of conditioning. You can have it all if you are willing to dream big enough.

"Smallness" is an epidemic in our culture. Most suffer from small thinking. The ability to dream is completely out of practice. Instead, they trudge through each day hoping something different will arise. In the end, nothing ever does. Success in life is only available to those who are willing to go after it. Conforming to society's whims is a guaranteed way to achieve mediocrity. True success comes from living your dreams.

Hold onto them for dear life. They are your lifeline to happiness.

Create Your Life

Many come to me asking "how do I create the life that I want?". This is an interesting question which leads me to answer "what do you want in life?". It is at this point that I usually get a blank stare. The truth is that most really have no idea what they want their life to look like. This is one of the main reasons why they inevitably spend years going in circles.

Creating your life starts with deciding what you want. Our life is first developed in the mind before it can ever become a reality. Without this basic part of the process, we are doomed to follow the ideas of someone else.

Society has a way of determining what is best for us. When I say society, I am referring to all the influences that touch our lives. They could be parents, teachers, employers, spouses, etc... Each of these people has an idea of what is best for us, of how to be successful in this culture.

Sadly, few to take the time to decide what he or she wants. People will spend more time planning a vacation than they will laying a path for their life. The few that do consider what they want enjoy more success and happiness.

It is time to get clear in your mind what it is that you want out of life. Clarity is a powerful weapon. I want you to write down exactly how you want life to be 10 years from now. Shake off the limitations of the mind. Societal training will arise at every new thought. Part of the process is to turn off the ideas of those who influenced us to get to the core of what we want.

You will find this is one of the most valuable exercises you ever engage in. The greatest minds in the world spent considerable time in thought. It is best if we follow their example. Determine what is the most desirable thing that you want. Whatever it is, write it down and place it where you can see it. Each night, look at it and ask yourself "did I shape my day to move towards this outcome?". This process starts to move the goal/desire/wish to the conscious level. You suddenly find that your actions begin to mirror what you wrote down.

For example, if you want to have a loving, intimate relationship with a special someone, write that desire on a card and post it. Each day, ask yourself the above question. Obviously, if you want this to come to fruition, it is necessary to shape your actions so that they put you in position to meet people. Each day, do this. Eventually, you will achieve the result you desire.

Clarity is the most powerful tool we have. Get clear in what you want so that you can start to work towards it beginning this moment. The creation of the life you want is at hand.

Use This Time To Reaffirm Your Dreams

Now is the time to start making the changes in your life. The world is in turmoil at the moment. People are strong and we will get past this crisis. However, many are being affected negatively but what is occurring. The plans that many set out are being eliminated with each 100 point drop in the stock market. Everything that some worked for is gone.

Hopefully, you are not one of these people. I pray that you are in a position where you can survive until things reverse course. Circumstances will vary for each individual with the overall tone being negative. Life still will continue on.

My training tells me to look for the lesson in each situation. There is something that I can carry from this which will improve my life in the future. What is it? At the same time, there is an overriding lesson that I believe all need to look at.

The people who are in the process of losing it all spent years working to get to the position they were in. They toiled at professions to someday be able to enjoy the fruits of their labor. Sadly, this is going to be difficult for most. Their plans changed in a short period of time.

This brings me to the lesson. We all heard the story about the man on his deathbed looking back over his life. The idea is that few ever say "I wish I spent more time at the office". When we look back, we often have regret over opportunities missed. It always comes down to how we choose to spend our time.

Our present crisis is offering an opportunity to look back over our life without being on our deathbed. Thankfully, there is still time. We can take the corrective action now to create the wonderful life that we crave. This situation is serving as a wake up call to all.

Each of us has dreams that we buried long ago. The childish ideas of our youth was replaced with the concept of being responsible. Typically, the career we chose was one out of necessity rather than desire. Nevertheless, following that path led us to the place of starting over. Many are now broke and facing the possibility of being out of work. Following the responsible path led to the place of unhappiness and regret. It is less of a burden if there is something to show for the years of effort. In many instances, this is not the situation.

Therefore, I beg you to start re-evaluating. Are you doing something that you love? Is there something else that you prefer doing? Are you happy with the life that you chose? Answering in the negative to any of these questions is a reminder to wake up. The time to change in now.

Transforming one's life is usually very risky. There are choices made which are often done on faith. However, never is it easier to do this as when there is little to lose. Unemployment is projected to increase another 1-2 points at a minimum. Many people will find themselves out of work. They will be forced into a career change. I am asking you to voluntarily make this decision if it is what you want.

Unleash your dreams on the world. What is it that you would do if you had no limitations? This is a critical question. Remove the barriers of self doubt and "realism". It is time to get unrealistic. The crisis we are enduring is one we never saw before. There are similarities to the past yet nothing that measures up to this in magnitude. The entire world is being affected.

You are responsible for your life. I wrote in the past about playing the "blame game". Resist the temptation to do this. Circumstances might well be beyond your control. However, blaming others gives your power away. Take it back by first starting to dream again. Write out your ideal life without limitations. This is the initial step of formulating a new path.

Life can be changed by doing many little things to create a new direction or by totally revamping everything through a major move. Many can follow the path of the former. The later, however, is a more viable option with the circumstances as they are. People now have less to lose then they did a few weeks ago. The time to dream of a different reality is here.

Success Is A Simple Process

Achieving success is really a simple process. Most complicate it by trying to re-invent the wheel. There is an old saying "success leaves clues". Our chances of accomplishment are increased when we follow the path that others set out. Removing the mystery from the equation is what allows people to thrive.

The best way to attain success is to model others who have the results that you want. It is proven that if you do what they did, odds are you will get similar results. Physical fitness is not a great mystery yet many are out of shape. Why? The answer is because many will not do what physically fit people do. Fitness is achieved if you follow their exercise and diet regimen.

There are three steps that is applied to achieve success in anything. Following them will ensure that you get the results you desire.

1. Decide what you want:

This seems like a given but you would be surprised how many have no clue what they want. What do you want? Get crystal clear about the results that you want to achieve in any situation. How do you want your life to look like? Trying to be successful without clarity is like throwing a dart at a moving target. Your chances are substantially reduced.

2. Take action:

Action is the bridge from our thoughts/ideas to the physical world. Many confuse the Law of Attraction to mean that action is not required. That is a fallacy which leads to failure. Action is always required since it is how we manifest things in our lives. It is in that act that we attract.

3. Make the necessary adjustments:

This is critical. Everything that you do will not work out. There are times when a new course is necessary. Many ignore this because of the time invested in pursuing one objective. If something is not working, try another way. Often, a simple adjustment is what leads us to the results we desired.

There it is for you. Apply these three steps to the next situation that you are confronted with. You will see difference in the results that you get.
